Childhood Marriage

CHILDHOOD MARRIAGE:

Girls in the Azawak often marry between the ages of 10 and 14, depending on their ethnic group. Early marriage coupled with days spent collecting water, makes attending school particularly challenging. We at Amman Imman not only build water sources, but also work with parents and community leaders so that they keep their daughters in school rather than marrying them early.
